Diese Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) sind ein genereller Aufruf an alle Länder, Wohlstand zu fördern und gleichzeitig den Planeten sowie seine Lebensgrundlagen zu erhalten.

Die einzelnen Ziele berücksichtigen dabei wirtschaftliche, soziale und ökologische Aspekte. Manche betreffen uns in Europa sowie Deutschland als hoch industrialisiertes Land mehr als andere. Wir starten unsere Reihe bewusst mit dem Industrie-Ziel der 17 SDGs, da wir vor allem im Südwesten seit Jahrzehnten gut und auf Basis eines hohen ökonomischen Wohlstands leben. Diesen zu sichern und gleichzeitig eine hochwertige, nachhaltige und widerstandsfähige Infrastruktur aufzubauen, sie zu modernisieren und Industrien nachzurüsten, um sie nachhaltiger zu machen, sind Kernthemen auf dem Weg zur industriellen Nachhaltigkeit. Welchen Beitrag die Forschung, Technologien, etablierte Wirtschaft und Start-ups dazu beisteuern, beleuchten wir zum Auftakt unseres Forums.

Im anschließenden Panel diskutieren wir darüber, was wir mit dem SDG erreichen wollen. Wo wir heute stehen, was wir tun müssen und wie konkrete Projekte aussehen können.

Energie ist mit fast allen Zielen für die nachhaltige Entwicklung verknüpft – und daher von so zentraler Bedeutung. Wirtschaftliche Zukunftsfähigkeit, Arbeitsplätze, Sicherheit, Klimawandel, Produktion, Einkommenssteigerung: Worum es auch geht, der Zugang zur Energie ist unerlässlich. Daher legen wir in unserem zweiten Black Forest Sustainability Forum den Blick auf das SDG 7. Wir wollen eine nachhaltigere und integrativere Gemeinschaften schaffen sowie die Widerstandsfähigkeit gegenüber Umweltfragen, wie dem Klimawandel erhöhen. Unsere Städte sind Drehscheiben für Ideen, Handel, Kultur, Wissenschaft, Produktivität und soziale Entwicklung. Siedlungen haben es uns Menschen ermöglicht, uns sozial und wirtschaftlich zu entwickeln. Bis 2030 soll die Zahl der Menschen, die bis dahin in Städten leben, auf 5 Milliarden Menschen anwachsen. Dies bringt große Herausforderungen mit sich: Verkehrsüberlastung, fehlende Mittel für die Grundversorgung, ein Mangel an angemessenen Wohnungen, sichere und geordnete Abfallwirtschaft, die Abnutzung der Infrastruktur und eine zunehmende Luftverschmutzung.

Daher richten wir in unserem #3 Sustainability Forum den Blick auf das SDG 11. Wir wollen die Herausforderungen rasanter Urbanisierungsprozesse bewältigen, in der Städte Chancen für alle bieten, mit Zugang zu Grundversorgung, Energie, Unterkunft und Verkehr. Wir müssen Wege finden, wie wir Städte weiterhin ausbauen können. Parallel brauchen wir Lösungen, wie wir gleichzeitig die Ressourcennutzung verbessern und die Umweltverschmutzung reduzieren.

In Keynotes und Pitches werfen die Wissenschaft und die Wirtschaft einen Blick auf inklusive Stadtplanung, Abfallbehandlung, auf die Entwicklung innovativer Verkehrssysteme und die Frage, wie wir die Luftqualität erhöhen können, um das SDG 11 zu erreichen.
